Besides learning about computers, there's a lot of other stuff to explore and learn (not related to computers) where the computer can help children.
The Research on computers in education is a few years behind the actual computer use today, so most of the potential of computers for learning might not have been detected. Many learning software is technology-driven, not focused on learning.
Today the computer is of great use in learning geography, languages, natural sciences, but even social sciences can benefit from simulation programs.
